The first of many to come

For the past year, Layla has turned my world upside down. Going from being alone every free minute to having someone depend on me every second. I never knew how much love someone can bring into your life the instant they arrive. But this little girl has stolen my heart and the hearts of those who she comes in to contact with. I cherish every moment I have with her and every hard moment where I think I can take no more. I get those moments but then when I get the time alone at night and think about it all, how could I ever possibly not want to continue this journey with Layla. I could never change any moment I have with her, good or bad. Because in all reality, there are no bad moments with her, just lessons. Layla still teaches me everyday how to try to become a better person. I know in this passed short year that she has changed me for the better. I still am difficult, hard headed and like things my way. But when it comes to Layla I always give in. Layla is going to be one in a short few days. Her party was a success despite the freezing winds, and she was surrounded by those who took time out of their busy lives to celebrate Laylas first year of life with us. I couldn't have asked for anything more. From the moment I had Layla I was in love, and the love grows stronger everyday. So here is to Layla, may this be the first birthday of many to come. And may you know how much you are loved by many, and especially loved by me... I love you my little princess <3

So Far,,,,

So far, I have sent the invites, bought everything except the food, and had Laylas outfit custom made. Hopefully everything else falls into place. I am hoping for a good turnout and that those able to make it can come and celebrate Laylas first year of life. For me, it's a bittersweet feeling. I am sad that a year has gone by and that she is growing from baby to toddler. Time does really go by so fast, in a blink of an eye. At the same time, I am happy that Layla is growing into a beautiful happy little girl. The first year I have been so thankful to be able to see her grow and take each new moment and capture it. I am hoping that this party marks a special mark in my life as well as Laylas. I have grown and Layla has grown, but most importantly we have grown together <3

Halloween 2010

This year I was definitely looking forward to taking Layla on her first trick or treating.... I love holidays, and I definitely like celebrating them. This year, I wanted to pick a costume that was different from the regular. As I searched and searched I couldn't find anything that was different. All the costumes for babies are typical. I came across this pink kitty costume, and I thought it would be perfect for my little kitten. Layla enjoyed the whole entire night, although she may not remember it down the road she will have pictures. Creating memories now is what its all about.
