Two

I am two
I will soon be three
I have learned so much as I continue to learn each day.
My vocabulary is very big, my sentences are growing.
I am still shy of strangers but my mama thinks that ok.
I know all my basic colors, I know my basic shape and my abc's as well as I can count almost to 20!
I can dress myself and I even like to pick out my clothes.
I am slowly learning to try new foods.
(Its been hard though)
I am now potty trained, I still wear diapers at nap and night time
(I even have accidents sometimes but its OK I'm still learning)
I love Disneyland its probably my favorite place besides the beach.
I am still learning how to ride my bicycle, I will get it though
I am now testing mama on my nap time.
I go to bed just fine and now I sleep in a big girl bed.
I have been to the dentist and I do very well!
This year I had my first medical scare (water on the elbow)
Still waiting for it to heal.
My favorite show is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
I love to jump! I also love to draw. I have been able to draw happy faces since I turned two
Now my drawings are getting better. I can draw letters and draw more details
As far as I can tell I am going to be left handed.
I am a very well behaved little girl who rarely ever throws tantrums or fits.

Being two was supposed to mean terrible twos. I may have learned the word no, but I know
that I still have to listen to what my Mama says. I am a very happy little girl and I have lots of love to give. Being two has been fun. And I'm sure being three will be better. Mama says I am growing way to fast.
But all I have to say is, I will always be your little girl

Happy Month Birthday Layla!

One of my favorite newborn shots taken by me!

Now I know a lot of people stop counting by the months of their baby probably not too far past 24 months... I don't.... Well I haven't stopped, yet! I will though...Eventually.
Today marks Layla being 29 Months old.
So why do I do it?
To keep track of all the pictures I take and make sure they are in order.
All the files on my computer go Month(28)2.27.12-3.26.12
I don't know why I do it, it just seems simpler that way
And at the end of the month, I open a new folder and start all over again for the new month
I think I'm a little crazy as many already do
But at the same time its my worry
Its a worry that I will forget a memory
That I will forget when it happened
A memory that will be lost just as fast as the time passes
A worry that I will never get those memories back
A worry that I will never be able to show Layla how happy of a baby she was
The dates on those folders probably mean nothing more than dates
The pictures are worth more than a thousands words I know this is true
But letting one single part of those moments,
seems like that's slowly letting go of those memories we cherish with our babies
At what age and time do we just say two, three or four?
From the moment Layla was born, all those little moments were the ones that count
The special bonding moments of nursing
The sounds of her cries(which was few)
Her sleeping patterns
Or lack of
The way she would laugh at the silliness of almost nothing
Her pure innocence
Having Layla has been nothing more than a joy
Through all the ups and theres many
To all the downs, we always seem to come back up
As Layla gets older I will try and take in every moment big and small
Sometimes we get side tracked
Its ok, the small moments count just as much as the big
Layla is a very smart little girl who is loved very much and by many.
Happy 29th Month Birthday !

Layla Turns 2!!!

Another year has passed! We made it
Its amazing how much time passes and how much things change
One thing that hasn't changed since last year has been my love.
My love for Layla
For all the little things she does that make me laugh, smile
Even get frustrated. She is a healthy two year old little girl
Yes there are times when she has meltdowns and mommy gets impatient
But I love my daughter and I wouldn't trade any of those little things for the world
She is one of the most polite little girls I know
But she also has the attitude to go with it
She keeps growing and every moment she amazes me
She teaches me daily and reminds me I need to learn patience
She teaches me how to love and I learn so much from her
This year she has started walking
She knows sooo many words especially the word no
(We definitely have to watch what we say around her)
She can put on her own shoes, break into the childproof cupboards
Layla is one smart cookie and yes I am going to brag a bit :)
I've always had a good baby and although this year she has tested me a bit
She still remains number 1 in my heart
So here's to Layla!
Bring on the terrible twos because
There's nothing terrible about you!
Love Mama
